Respecting Biodiversity
A Story Of Generosity
Since 1976, L'OCCITANE has been protecting the richness of our lands and we are committed to defending biodiversity for the generations to come. We celebrate nature and our mission is to give back to it. That is why we are proud to partner with global conservation charity, PUR Project, to fund dedicated tree plantation projects in local regions across the world.
Sustainable Sourcing Of Our Ingredients
Locally-sourced ingredients, no harmful farming
We work directly with over 130 French farmers and 10,000 pickers – from the Immortelle fields of Corsica to the Lavender fields of Provence, ensuring that the ingredients we use are of the highest quality and sourced as sustainably as possible.
The L’OCCITANE brand sees nature as its model and draws inspiration from the natural properties of plants to drive innovation. We are dedicated to developin long-term partnerships with our producers and prioritise short, local integrated channels when sourcing our key ingredients.
Non-harmful Farming Of Our Iconic Ingredient
Made Proudly With Organic Immortelle
Our iconic ingredient, the Immortelle flower, is found in most of our skin care line. That is why it was important for us to make sure that it is grown in way that respects the environment. We source our Immortelle from farmers who use only organic farming methods, ensuring that no toxic chemicals go into the Earth during the flower’s life cycle. Plus, it means that is safer for your skin too, win-win!
Replanting Trees For The Next Generation
Keeping our air, water and planet clean
A tree brings so much to our planet. They clean our air, purify our water, protect wildlife and provide shelter & shade. Today, woodlands are facing a major crisis due to developments, climate change & disease. It is crucial this catastrophe is addressed and that is why we are so proud to be supporting PUR Projet, who to date have already planted 8.5 million trees worldwide and won’t stop there.
To produce our bestselling Almond range, we have also replanted 17,000+ Almond trees in Provence since 2002!

The Lavender Of Provence Is Under Threat
We're Determined To Protect It
Lavender decline is real! This much-loved flower, so symbolic of Provence, is suffering as a result of climate change. Since 2012, L'OCCITANE has been working with French ecological research institutes to find ways to save lavender, such as selecting new varieties of plants and using innovative cultivation techniques.
