What a journey! It all began in 2001, when L’Occitane launched a range of products and treatments for the face dedicated to Immortelle flower essential oil, grown in Corsica and known for its exceptional anti-aging properties. But it was in 2004 that the brand saw the big picture. Respectful of nature and the environment, it set up a 50-hectare organic Immortelle flower planting program in Balagne and the eastern plain of Corsica. The goal? Take action for the preservation of the Immortelle flower’s natural sites.
This fabulous project has come a long way. Ten years later, it’s been awarded the jury prize from Business Awards for the Environment, composed of the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy and the French Environment and Energy Management Agency.
Awarded in honor of the participation of the brand and its eight Corsican partners, the prize is the acknowledgement of the many actions carried out by L'Occitane in favor of the traceability and the quality of the Immortelle flower. More commonly known as “La Belle du Maquis,” this deliciously scented flower has, indeed, a brilliant gold color and possesses many cosmetic virtues including the promise of an eternally youthful skin!
