Spotlight on Provence’s New Michelin Stars

On 2 February 2015, French gastronomy’s famous red guide unveiled the 609 graduates of its 2015 edition. This major event crowned with a star no less than nine Provencal chefs for their cuisine of southern accents.

"Talent alert!" The tone is set. From Saint Raphael to La Ciotat, via Fayence, compliments are showered on these outstanding chefs . As for Marseille, "a real signature cuisine… creative and inspired" is at the heart of the menu at AM Par Alexandre Mazzia. While the young prodigy Ludovic Turac, owner of the establishment Une Table, au Sudartfully cultivates the spirit of the region” with his "inventive and confident cooking”.

An enthusiasm that continues to Le Clos restaurant in Aix-en-Provence, where Jean-Marc Banzo presides with his "tasty, carefully prepared creations," of "classic French cuisine with pronounced Mediterranean flavors". On the heights of the city, his neighbor Marc de Passorio, chef at L'Esprit de la Violette, proves himself with a "modern, colorful and devilishly creative cuisine."

Such praise that also resonates with Nans Gaillard’s regional cuisine, Eric Canino’s organic recipes, the creative notes of Stéphane Léger, not to mention the sincerity of Sébastien Corniau and Quentin Jopley. So many rising stars making such delicious homages to their roots, through cooking styles "that cultivate the colors and the generosity of Provence."
